'ZOTAC' News and Updates: Magnus EN1060 Is Better Than Gaming Console

Zotac has earned a good name for making small form factor PCs and video cards. Recently, it has launched its VR system, the VR Go backpack PC with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, a quad-core CPU, I/O capabilities and a battery that is hot swappable inside the small frame.

ZOTAC's latest model from its mini PCs, the Magnus EN1060 that is smaller than a gaming console but houses enough processing power to lead games at ultra settings and 60FPS, can now be purchased.

The tiny 20cm-by-20cm footprint houses a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card which provides sufficient graphics boot to power games at the supreme settings and allows setting up resolutions above 1080p. The Zotac Magnus EN1060 is comparable to a highly portable VR-ready PC, according to Ars Technica.

The Zbox of the Zotac Magnus EN1060 has the same metal frame flanked by robust plastic top and bottom covers. The vents that can be seen easily are carved into its textured black plastic, glossy circle on the top cover and the power button that sits into the piano-black front. The hotchpotch design costs $1,000 or £875.

An SD card reader, a standard USB 3.1 port, a microphone jack, a headphone jack and a USB 3.1 Type-C port can be seen to the right of the power button in the front. At the back of the Zotac Magnus EN1060 sits the two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.3 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports and an external aerial socket for the internal 802.11ac/b/g/n WiFi in a dual gigabit Ethernet ports.

The Zotac Magnus EN1060 measures 210 mm by 203 mm, stands at 62 mm and can fit into tiny spaces. Although it lacks USB 3.1 on the rear, the dual Ethernet ports can draw double duty as a DIY router or a server.

The EN1060 has a space inside its frame for a standard 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD, an M.2 slot for super fast storage like Samsung's latest 960 Pro NMVe SSDs and two laptop-style SODIMM slots enough for 32GB of RAM.

ZOTAC International was established in 2006. Its name was derived from the words "zone" and "tact". Based in Macau, the company specializes in producing video cards, Mini PCs, Solid State Drives, Motherboards and other computer accessories. All its products are manufactured in the PC Partner factories in Dongguan City, China and it has three offices overseas in Germany, Korea and the US.
