'Power Rangers' News and Updates: Megazord Toy Has Been Revealed
The giant mech created by all five Rangers, Megazord has been revealed by the "Power Rangers" franchise in a new toy image.
The upcoming reboot film of Power Rangers has made a lot of changes including this new toy, Megazord that doesn't look like the traditional TV version, according to GameSpot. It has expandable wings, battle sounds and LED effects.
The Megazord toy was released after a Dinozord toy was also revealed last week. The photo of the toy was posted by the franchise's official Twitter account which offers a better concept of the upcoming film once it hits the cinemas.
In October, "Power Rangers" first trailer was released and it looks like the movie goes for a more stern timbre compared to the classic TV series. The Rangers suits weren't revealed that much but the villain Rita Repulsa's appearance was closely highlighted. Actress Elizabeth Banks plays the role.
Dean Israelite, the Project Almanac director is on the controls to direct the "Power Rangers" movie and "X-Men: First Class" writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz wrote the original draft of the script while the screenwriting team Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama well-known for "The Last Witch Hunter" and "Gods of Egypt" have written the current draft.
The five "Power Rangers" are played by Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Becky G (Yellow Ranger), RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger) and Ludi Lin (Black Ranger).
Power Rangers (billed as Saban's Power Rangers) is an upcoming 2017 American 3D science fiction superhero drama film. As the third film based on the "Power Rangers" property and serves as a reboot and reimagining of the franchise.
It also marks the first Power Ranger film since 1997's "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie". The film features most of the main characters of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers although portrayed by a new cast. Franchise creator Haim Saban returned to produce the film under Saban Capital Group. Power Rangers will be released in the United States on March 24, 2017.
