Google, LG Working On Next Nexus Phone [RUMOR]

According to a fresh rumor making the rounds in the smartphone world, Google will continue its partnership with LG to develop the fifth Nexus smartphone.

LG is apparently looking to repeat the Nexus 4 magic and according to Korea Times, LG is already working with Google on a Nexus sequel. According to the report, executives from Google and LG have met up recently to discuss a number of topics including the development of a new Nexus handset. The device is expected to hit the market sometime later this year.

Quoting several unnamed sources close to the matter, the publication states that the South Korean electronics maker is looking to expand its collaboration in TVs and future businesses such as Google Glass.

The first Nexus device, the Nexus One, was made by HTC followed by two Nexus phones, the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus from Samsung. The latest and the current Nexus phone in the market, the Nexus 4, was made by LG which proved to be a huge hit for its impressive specs and affordable price tag.

The latest update follows a recent rumor where it was said that Google is apparently exploring devices from a other vendors for the next Nexus phone. The top contender at the time was rumored to be an LG device code-named Megalodon. According to CNET, the device was rumored to boast a 5.2-inch screen, and 2.3GHz Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.
