'Pokemon Go' News and Updates: Thanksgiving Special Event Is Likely to Happen

The "Pokemon Go" craze has been ongoing since its initial release on July 06, 2016. Niantic had some special spooky events during the Halloween season. Players were thrilled upon learning that a special Halloween event is already in order especially because it was the game's first event since its release.

The "Pokemon Go" special Halloween event has earned Niantic a whopping $2.3 million between Oct. 25 and 29. Since Thanksgiving is coming our way, Niantic might again join other developers to observe the holiday.

The "Pokemon Go" Thanksgiving event is predicted to release the same rewards and bonuses that were rolled out during the Halloween event along with increased spawn rates and sightings of numerous Pokemons like Fearows as well as reduced walking distance in Buddy Pokemon. It is also said that the Thanksgiving event might last for a week.

Fearow, Slowpoke, Spearow, Psyduck, Slowbro, Golduck, Ponyta and Rapidash are the pokemons who will most likely get the chance to increase its spawn rate, according to Tech.Mic.

Niantic has never joined a Thanksgiving event in their other augmented reality game before like "Ingress", but there is a good chance that they are celebrating this time due to the increased number of "Pokemon Go" players worldwide. The Thanksgving special event is said to commence on Nov. 24.

"Pokemon Go" is a free-to-play game available on Android, iOS, and Apple Watch devices. It was developed and published by Niantic, Inc. with the help of their artist Dennis Hwang, and composer Junichi Masuda.

"Pokemon Go" uses the mobile device's GPS (Global Positioning System) to locate, battle, capture and train virtual creatures. Although it suffered server outages because of extreme usage, and some hackers also tried to take it down using DDoS (distributed denial of service) assault, Niantic still managed to put it back into working order and have been trying to make developments of the game.
