Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Latest News & Update: AI-Infused Flagship Pegged To Revive Sagging Fortunes Of Smartphone Giant

A lot is at stake for the Samsung Galaxy S8, technically the confidence and trust that some customers may have lost following the mishaps that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 brought up. This is with reference to the unfortunate exploding battery issue that contributed to the losses of the Korean electronics giant.

As mentioned in a previous post, the Samsung Galaxy S8 needs to make up for the bad taste the Galaxy Note 7 has left behind. Features are the best way to go and hopefully, these would not result in future fire-causing battery explosions.

Previous rumors seem to hint that Samsung will be following the Apple offerings, particularly the 3.5 mm jack iteration. That said, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could eventually rely on Bluetooth or USB-C interface as well though all that remains to be seen.

Now aside from that, there could be another familiar Apple feature Samsung may copy. This is with reference to Siri, Apple’s famed digital assistant. Samsung acquired Viv Labs Inc. last month and this could be tied up to an AI-like feature possibly included with the Samsung Galaxy S8.

If true, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could offer potential owners with useful information ranging from weather to flight times based on user activity, Bloomberg reported. The move should be similar to the ones being employed by Apple, expanding the capabilities of Siri for the advanced consumer.

With an AI of their own, the new feature is pretty much welcome for the Samsung Galaxy S8. It should be another interesting dish though most prefer to know if the company will no longer offer a high-risk device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is an entirely different entity but the ghost of fire-causing batteries will remain. It may be unfair to associate the Galaxy S8 but the fact is that both devices come from one company – Samsung.
