‘Pokemon Sun and Moon’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: Junichi Masuda Hints at Classic Remakes, ‘Pokemon GO’ Will Help In Sales

The two new versions of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be released in a few more days and already talks on the remakes have started making rounds. Fans are particularly interested in the original Red and Blue titles. Junichi Masuda, the producer of the "Pokemon" franchise, has teased about more classic remakes after "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are released.

The latest "Pokemon Sun and Moon" news comes when the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire versions have been released. Masuda spoke about the future remakes in an interview with IGN. He said that the approach adopted for remakes such as "Pokémon LeafGreen" and "Pokémon FireRed" may be used for future remakes.

Masuda emphasized on the fact that the Virtual Console is convenient enough for transferring captured Pokemon from the Classic Blue and Red versions to the most recent versions of the game. He also pointed out that there is no plan yet to launch the "Pokemon Gold and Silver' though "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" could be developed. So, what could we expect in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" games?

Well, "Pokemon Red and Blue" are currently the Virtual Console's best-sellers in the 3DS digital store. Thus, it is possible that the "Red and Blue" may get a remake after its resounding success. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" launch on Nintendo 3DS is on Nov. 18.

Masuda believes that the massive popularity of "Pokemon GO" has had no effect on "Pokemon Sun and Moon." On the contrary, the success of "Pokemon GO" may help in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" sales, writes Game Spot. This is because "Pokemon GO" has helped raise the awareness for the overall Pokemon brand.

The recent "Pokemon GO" update has added a daily catch bonus. Connections between "Pokemon GO" and "Pokemon Sun and Moon" have also been discussed but not yet revealed. Thus, as is derived from what Masuda said, "Pokemon GO's" success will not affect "Pokemon Sun and Moon's" success negatively. On the contrary, it will help in its sales.
