HTC Vive 2 News, Updates & Specs: New VR Headset About To Release Soon? Find Out More Here!

With all the new virtual reality devices emerging in the market, with Sony's new PlayStation VR headset and the Samsung VR, phone manufacturer HTC doesn't want to be left in the dust. As one of the early adopters of virtual reality right after the Oculus Rift, HTC quickly proved that it wasn't just ripping off those who have innovated before it with the HTC Vive 2.

Now, there are rumors surfacing that HTC is already tinkering in the lab, working on a follow-up to the Vive. TechRadar speculates that the HTC Vive 2 is already in development, even though a possible confirmation by the company turned out to be nothing but a false alarm.

Since the original HTC Vive came out in April of this year, it's safe to assume that the HTC Vive 2 is coming soon. With all the advances in the technology and the advent of the PlayStation VR, the company might be under some pressure to deliver the next level of their product. One year would be long enough to come up with the next generation of their VR technology.

What could the HTC Vive 2 possibly be packing? For one thing, the big rumor is that HTC is working with Quark VR, a virtual reality company based in Bulgaria, to create a wireless headset. Right now, the headset is hooked up to a computer via an HDMI cable, and Quark has been creating a prototype for HTC that connects to the source through Wi-Fi, reports Intugame.

Another concern is technology that will allow the HTC Vive 2 to properly render room-scale VR, and even higher resolutions. Although there could be sharper images, it's also understandable that high-resolution 4K video may not be supported yet.

The HTC Vive 2 may be coming soon, but there's no confirmed release date yet. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more information as soon as it becomes available.
