Samsung is working hard to retain its position in the mobile industry as it's about to unveil Samsung Galaxy S8. There are rumors that the new device will be announced in February 2017 at Samsung Unpacked event.

The reputation of Samsung has been put to the test after the series of complaints about Galaxy Note 7's catching fire. The tech giant has recalled the device from its customers to replace the Galaxy Note 7, but with the series of more complaints even with the replacements, Samsung decided not to continue the production of the device. Hence, they are making Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to regain the trust of Samsung fans, especially to those who previously owned a Galaxy Note 7. According to BGR, Samsung is creating Galaxy S8 with two different sizes which measure 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch, considering that Galaxy Note 7 is a phablet.

Rumors claimed that Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a dual-edge screen display, instead of the standard flat screen. However, the upcoming flagship of Samsung will not sport a 4K screen and it will stick to QHD resolution. GSM Arena noted that the use of QHD resolution is practical both for performance and the device's battery life since the 4K screen is technical to benefit only VR users.

Moreover, it is rumored that Samsung Galaxy S8 has a 90 screen-to-body ratio with a dual camera setup, but there is no confirmation if what will be the features of the second sensor. Another interesting feature of the device is its own Artificial Intelligence service that could be directly competing with Google Pixel's Google Assistant.

According to Reuters, the tech giant plans to include an AI platform to their new Samsung Galaxy S8. The AI assistant will be developed by the same firm, Viv Labs, which co-created Apple's Siri voice assistant program. Viv AI assistant will be the answer to other devices AI platforms just like with Apple and Google.

As of the moment, there is no confirmation yet of what other specs and features do the Samsung Galaxy S8 has. But, Samsung plans of releasing another flagship device after it failed with Galaxy Note 7 is definitely a decision that the company needs to take to not to lose its spot in the mobile industry.
