Apple recently unveiled a new MacBook Pro model with improved specs and revamped chassis. The upcoming laptop dons the most awaited OLED Touch Bar with a hefty price tag.
MacBook Pro 2016 Price
TechnoBuffalo reported the 13-inch model starts at $1,799 and the basic 15-inch model at $2,799. The configured 15-inch model will cost $4,299. Upgrading the storage from 512GB to 2TB adds $1,200 more. The new MacBook Pro promises better all-around performance along with a much improved display and a smaller overall footprint. It also carries a pair of Thunderbolt 3/USB-C Ports with RAM configuration options of up to 16GB.
The drastic increase of MacBook's price caught some prospective buyers' off-guard. In an interview with CNET, Apple executive Phil Schiller said that the company is mainly focused on the quality of its products than the price.
"Although affordability is something we take into consideration, we are more into the quality of our product. We design for the experience that the people usually expect from Mac." He explained.
MacBook Pro 2016 Specs
The refreshed MacBook Pro with the new Touch Bar, Touch ID support, and thinner framework has been selling like pancakes since its announcement on Oct. 27. Reports suggest that though Apple hadn't yet shipped the machines yet, the MacBook Pro purchasers started to receive notice that their machines are now ready for shipment, 9to5Mac reported.
The MacBook Pro 2016 with OLED Touch Bar comes with an alluring design, vibrant display, bigger trackpad, two USB-C ports and four Thunderbolt 3 ports. It is powered by a 2.9GHz Quad-core Intel i7, Radeon Pro 460 with 4GBVRAM and 1TB SSD. The newest Apple notebook revamped its keyboards with awesome backlighting. It offers a much improved typing experience over the 12-inch MacBook and previous MacBook Pros. The 2016 MacBook Pro with the OLED Touchbar is scheduled to be released in Jan. 2017.
