UFC 205: Aggressive Conor McGregor has backstage altercation with Tyron Woodley, Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has his sights set on history Saturday at UFC 205, looking to become the first fighter in the promotion’s history to hold two titles at different weight classes when he faces off against lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. But while a tough, daunting challenge awaits him in the octagon, it appears Mystic Mac will take on virtually any challenger regardless of the huge stakes at UFC 205.

Following his Twitter exchange with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, where Conor McGregor repeatedly called the 170 lb. champ a “b*tch,” he was caught by cameras backstage at the UFC 205 weigh-ins, verbally assaulting Woodley.

The Twitter exchange stemmed from the UFC 205 press conference where Conor McGregor said he would take “all the belts” on the table. When a reporter asked Woodley what his response was to that, the welterweight champion said “I think he’s referring to Eddie’s belt.” The brash Irishman was quick to clarify what he meant saying “All the belts,” after being prodded by the same reporter for a response.

The following day, cameras caught Conor McGregor taunting Woodley for “being like a woman with his camera phone,” while hurling a slew of expletives as Woodley turned his back on the agitated Irishman. A similar scene was also caught between Conor McGregor and lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, also before the weigh-ins.

All three men are fighting in the biggest event in the promotion’s history. Woodley is defending his title for the first time against Stephen Thompson, while Khabib Nurmagomedov will square up against Michael Johnson.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was extremely vocal about how he was used as a bargaining chip during the negotiations for the McGregor-Alvarez fight. He has also questioned the legitimacy of Conor McGregor’s title shot. “The Eagle” is undefeated in his dominant, albeit injury plagued MMA career, racking up a 23-0 record.
