'Cyberpunk 2077' News & Updates: Is The Game Coming Anytime Soon? Find Out Here!

It's no secret that RPG fans are waiting for "Cyberpunk 2077," the upcoming role-playing game from the makers of "The Witcher" series, CD Projekt Red. Upon its announcement last year, it's already surrounded with quite a lot of hype for its monumental ambition, a game way more complex than "The Witcher."

CD Projekt Red recently announced its earnings result for the year and aside from reporting losses this year compared to the previous, they reported increased spending for development. This is most likely the clue to the status of "Cyberpunk 2077," according to GameSpot; if it is spending a lot on game development, it must be because of what they aim to achieve with the game. This is important to note because the game was supposed to come out sometime this year.

Here's what gamers know about "Cyberpunk 2077" so far. According to Red Bull Games, "Cyberpunk 2077" story will focus on the nitty-gritty kind of a dystopian future. It seems to be an open-world crime story revolving around the use of "braindances," a neurological device that serves as the drug of choice of the masses in the game. Braindances allow people in "Cyberpunk 2077" universe to feel and experience the memories of other people, complete with all senses involved.

Due to CD Projekt Red's reputation of taking a long time to develop games (as evidenced by the amount of time between "Witcher" games, from their announcements), it's safe to assume that "Cyberpunk 2077" may not arrive in 2017. There's a chance that it could arrive for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One before the end of next year. But if we have no word on it and it didn't arrive this year, you shouldn't expect a 2017 target date. Stay tuned for more updates on the game.
