If the recent release of Iron Man 3 and announcement of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have got you craving more cinematic Marvel goodness, now is the time to rejoice.
Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier is currently filming in the ever-appropriate locale of Washington D.C., and both the media and a few excited fans have captured photos and videos of the superhero set.
ABC news provided an official report (seen below) from the scene of the shoot, which reveals Captain America himself (Chris Evans) donning some casual attire for the daytime scene near the National Mall. The video also features interviews with a few eager spectators who were enjoying the action.
Of course, no movie set is safe from the sneaky smartphones of dedicated fans, and plenty of people were around to snap pictures and grab video footage of the film's creation. One video reveals a strange, slow-motion esque march scene with a few men in suits, while another fan-made montage provides a look at various set photos.
Aside from Evans, Avengers star Scarlett Johannson was seen on set, as she will be reprising her role as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Black Widow. Also present in D.C. was Marvel newcomer Anthony Mackie, who will be fighting alongside Captain America as the Falcon. According to the Belfast Telegraph, characters such as Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) will be coming back for Cap's second outing.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will hit theatres in April 2014, making it the third film in Marvel's "Phase 3" following Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. The movie will explore how Steve Rogers (Evans) acclimates to today's world after being pulled from the past for Avengers, and will reveal the fate of Barnes, who appeared to have died in the original Captain America but, much like in the comics, will return as the enigmatic Winter Soldier.
