iPhone 8 Release Date, News & Update: Will Apple Sport A Bigger iPhone In Its Next Release? Details Here

Apple currently released it latest offering in September with the iPhone 7 during the Apple event. The newest iPhone has brand-new features and a wireless headphone. Despite this, there are reports that Apple wants to make an even bigger handheld with the iPhone 8.

A Bigger iPhone 8?

This iPhone 8 information was told by Barclays research analysis Jerry Zhang, Blayne Curtis, Thomas O'Malley, and Christopher Hemmelgarn. The research analysis stated they got their information from Apple's supply chain while the analysis team were on tour in Asia.

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus measures 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively, and Apple wants the iPhone 8 to feature a 5-inch and 5.8-inch variants. The said target size for the iPhone 8 would also be in line with the tech giant's tenth anniversary in 2017.

According to the Barclays analysis team, the iPhone 8 will feature curved and bezel-free new looks with the iPhone 8 Plus sporting an OLED display screen, which would be Apple's first time to be featuring an OLED screen for their devices. The OLED screen display for the iPhone 8 will mean that the variant will have a sharper and brighter screen display and a power saver feature.

However, the research analysis did admit that a larger iPhone 8 design is still not 100% confirmed with Apple, but the analysts are positive that Apple is going for a 5.8-inch iPhone 8 in the future. This means, Apple fans should put a grain of salt and consider the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 report to be an unconfirmed rumor.

Meanwhile, the research analysis added that in order for Apple to achieve a 5.8-inch iPhone 8, the Cupertino-based company would have to ditch the Home Button feature to incorporate the specific size. For more iPhone 8 news and updates stay tuned to Gamenguide!
