Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection Coming To US On July 9 For $49.99

Come July 9, gamers will get to experience the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, a Metal Gear Solid compilation that spans the entire franchise exclusively on PlayStation 3.

Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will mark the franchise's 25th anniversary and Konami has now officially announced that the bundle will be launched in North and South America on July 9. The collection, originally scheduled for June, is priced at $49.99.

The bundle will include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD edition (which includes the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy edition. In addition to these titles, it will offer two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels that were never released outside of Japan. The package will also include a 100 page MGS art book highlighting marketing art, spanning the 25 year history of the franchise.

"From the frozen Alaskan tundra to the jungles of Russia, the Metal Gear series has covered nearly every corner of the globe, with a story spanning over 50 years of history and four generations of consoles. And for the first time in series history, every core title will be available in a single box, starting July 9, 2013 on PS3," Konami Social Media Manager Dalton Link says in a statement posted on the PlayStation Blog.

The bundle can be pre-ordered now at Amazon. Although no European release for the collection has been announced, importing the bundle is an option as PS3 is a region free console.

Konami is yet to announce the release dates of its upcoming Metal Gear Solid games such as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
