iOS 10 Latest News & Updates: Apple Set to Release iOS 10.2 Update; Includes New Emojis, Wallpapers, Emergency SOS & More Features!

Apple had just recently released the well-received iOS 10 its iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Not long after, newer updates were released to increase the security and stability of the software. Come December, the company will be rolling out iOS 10.2, with new features, emojis, and a lot more.

New Emojis

While the iOS 10 already had tons of new emojis that users could tinker with, the iOS 10.2 update will be bringing 72 new ones. There would be new happy faces, smileys, professions, reactions, food (including bacon), and updates to some of the favorites such as the iconic peach.

Camera Settings

Camera settings could now be saved on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. After the iOS 10.2 update, users may access this feature under the "Settings" app. From there, go to the "Photos and Camera" section, where camera mode, filter, and live photos could be changed.

Emergency SOS

The Emergency SOS was originally natively integrated to the Apple Watch. Apple now brings the feature to other iOS devices as well through the iOS 10.2 update. The Emergency SOS allows the user to call emergency services discreetly, by pressing the on and off button five times. As of now, there are 14 countries participating in the Emergency SOS feature. these include the US, UK, Russia, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Australia, Belgium, India, Italy, and China. The users may also program the feature to assign emergency contact information through the "Settings" menu.

Resuming Text From Quick Response

Texts from a quick response bubble can now be resumed to the Messages app after the iOS 10.2 update. A Celebration filter will also be featured in the Messages app. This could be accessed through long pressing the arrow button and scrolling down to the screen option that would be releasing the sparklers.

New Wallpapers

The iOS 10.2 update will bring three new wallpapers to be used for the background and lock screen. However, these wallpapers would be exclusive to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users. The designs are water droplets with blue, pink, and yellow variants. They coordinate with the phone's motion whenever the "Perspective" setting is on.

New TV App

Apple had previously demonstrated the new TV app in their recent event. This will be coming to their devices through the new iOS 10.2 update.
