Reports broke out that "Battlefield 1" running on PlayStation 4 Pro provides a solid performance advantage over the regular PS4 gamers. A test has been conducted and it was concluded that PS4 Pro owners are leading to this advantage.
According to Eurogamer, in situations where the Frostbite engine is beat up, there's something up to a 47 percent frame-rate advantage on PS4 Pro. Eurogamer tested out a campaign mode and found out that the PS4 Pro enhancements while running "Battlefield 1" has lower latency.
Since testing the multiplayer mode and finding out exact metrics is not as easy as slicing a piece of cake, Eurogamer obtain a second copy of "Battlefield 1" and played PS4 Pro and PS4 altogether in the same session where players are locked into the same squad, one is carefully following the other.
Basing from the outcome of the analysis, PlayStation 4 Pro provides a 10-15fps advantage which is consistent no matter how low the regular PS4 drops. For instance, on the standard PS4, the performance drops 33ms or even 50ms frame-times while the Pro never goes beyond 33ms.
"Battlefield 1" also holds its resolution advantage on PlayStation 4 Pro. Other campaign enhancements such as improved textures, effects work and terrain detail are also concrete with its advantage. All of these do well to players whether they're running on a 4K screen or in 1080p mode. It's expected that the PlayStation 4 Pro should retain the target 60fps steadily compared to the standard PS4 version.
The PlayStation 4 Pro sports a higher-powered GPU which allows higher quality visuals, 4K resolution support, with physical power and eject buttons, greater energy efficiency, reduced fan volume, power consumption and heat.
PS4 Pro can still play any PS4 or backwards compatible game. It is Sony's latest line of PS4 consoles and is more powerful than its forerunners.
