'Katamari' Release Date, Features, Price, Latest News & Update: New Damacy Statues Of The Prince & Dipp

First 4 Figures recently showcased a new line of "Katamari Damacy" statues in the same manner that most of their games begin. There are only two models available set to release in the second quarter of 2017.

IGN reported that there are two "Katamari Damacy" statues that will release: The Prince and his multiplayer companion, Dipp. Both "Katamari Damacy" statues stand 11 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 11 inches deep.

The Prince costs $234.99, while Dipp costs $249.99. Pre-ordering the "Katamari Damacy" statues is already available until Nov. 29, 2016 and there are also discount codes available for interested buyers. The code KATAP10 will allow a $10 discount from The Prince statue, while the code KATAD15 will provide a $15 discount off the Dipp statue.

The First 4 Figures official website stated that the plot of "Katamari Damacy" focuses on a small prince on a mission to rebuild the moon, stars and constellations, which were accidentally destroyed by the King of All Cosmos, his father. "Katamari Damacy" players control the Prince as he rolls the Katamari through various environments to meet the required parameters set by his father. The Prince statue will arrive in deluxe full-color packaging, an authenticity card and a hand-numbered base. The card allows "Katamari Damacy" fans to prepare for future pieces in the series.

First 4 Figures described "Katamari Damacy" Dipp, a cousin of The Prince that looks like a disco ball and lives for attention. Dipp will also come in deluxe full-color packaging, with a hand-numbered base and authenticity card.

The website showed the prototypes of the two characters, and added that the final product may be slightly different. First 4 Figures noted that the two models will be the first to be released in the series, which means that there will be more statues coming out after these become available in 2017.

"Katamari Damacy" is a ball-rolling third-person puzzle-action game that launched on Sept. 22, 2004 for PlayStation 2. It was subsequently released on Apr. 30, 2013 for PlayStation 3. Bandai Namco previously trademarked "Amazing Katamari Damacy," which could be a remastered version of the popular game or a remaster of the classic.
