Classic Batman Villains Return For Dark Knight Annual #1

From Detective Comics to the flagship Batman series, it can be somewhat overwhelming for new readers to find the perfect Caped Crusader comic that fits their taste. However, even the most casual of fans should be able to kick back and enjoy The Dark Knight Annual #1, as it showcases an exciting mash-up of three of Bruce Wayne's most iconic villains.

This one-off issue will find the Madhatter, the Penguin, and Scarecrow all teaming up to get their own piece of Batman, Newsarama reports

"Will the diabolical scheming of Scarecrow, Mad Hatter and The Penguin be too much for Batman to handle?" reads the official description.

Plot details are scarce on the annual issue, but fans can expect an all-out slugfest between Batman and three of his most legendary foes when the issue hits comic store shelves on May 29.

Seeing how the likes of Joker and Bane have been in the spotlight as of late thanks to recent Batman movies, cartoons, and comics, The Dark Knight Annual #1 will provide a great opportunity for fans to reconnect with the other guys. 2013 seems to be the year of Batman reconnecting with old foes, as this fall's Arkham Origins game will focus on the likes of Deathstroke and Black Mask.

Batman: The Dark Knight Annual #1 is written by Gregg Hurwitz with art by Szymon Kudranski and cover work by Alex Maleev. The bonus-sized, 48-page issue will retail for $4.99 when it hits stores. Will you be jumping into this one-off foray against some of DC's most iconic bad guys?
