Nintendo Direct JP: Monster Hunter 4 And Ace Attorney 5 get Japanese Release Dates

Nintendo just finished up its latest Nintendo Direct dispatch. During the Japan-exclusive video, the company reported that two new titles for the 3DS are set to release this year. Games in the Phoenix Wright series and Monster Hunter series will launch late this year.

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies will be available as a download-only title in Japan. Capcom will release the game in Japan on July 25. The game's developer, Capcom, has already announced the title will be released in the US and Europe sometime this autumn.

The game will be the fifth title in the courtroom-based series. Ace Attorney follows the adventures of attorney Phoenix Wright. The game will follow Wright and his law team as they attempt to track down the culprit behind the destruction of the game's famous courtroom.

Nintendo also said the 3DS will get Monster Hunter 4 on September 14, 2013. The title will be an exclusive for Japan. Nintendo has given no word if the game will be launched in United States.

Monster Hunter 4 will cost 5,990 yen upon release. Along with the game, Japan will be receiving two limited edition 3DS XL consoles styled after the Monster Hunter franchise. The limited edition consoles will be released with Monster Hunter 4 in September.

The game has seen its share of delays. Monster Hunter 4 was supposed to be released last March. However, Capcom decided to hold onto the game to bring enhancements to some of the game's features.

Following the delay, rumors began to spread that Capcom was considering porting the title to the PS Vita. IGN reported in January that it had a source who believed the game was delayed so it could have a dual console launch with the PS Vita and 3DS.

Capcom's Senior Vice President Christian Svenson later dismissed the speculation saying, "I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration."

The Nintendo 3DS has been performing well in the United States. Last April, President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime announced that consumers bought 8 million of the consoles during 2013.
