Top Five Places to Get Game-Inspired Apparel

Over the years, video game-inspired apparel has blown up significantly. Some use it as making a fashion statement, a clever way of reminding those of their gamer affiliation and some just to look cool. Gone are the days of cheaply made shirts and other clothing that got wearers laughed at. Now, there are numerous choices for gamers at all type of levels while some are inclusive enough to just look cool wearing. These five sites perfectly blend chicness with everything that's awesome about gaming. Most importantly, it's better than going to Hot Topics.

Jinx

Jinx could be considered the first big retailer of gaming inspired clothing. In fact, it's the biggest of all the sites named on this list. What started as a cool site for video game inspired shirts has grown to being the go to store for official franchise gear. Interestingly enough, a lot of Jinx's apparel are backed by developers like Blizzard, EA and Activision. Those looking for official gear by the creators know that Jinx is the best place to stop plus, the prices aren't that bad.

Glennz Tees

Glennz Tees is strictly for the gamer who also happens to be into high conceptual fashion. Created by New Zealand designer Glenn Jones, Glennz Tees has made its way to actually having a store in Austin, TX. This has given Glennz Tees hipster credibility that many of these sites can only dream about (if they cared). Though the T-shirt and hoodie maker relies on mainly popular geek culture, many of its gaming inspired apparel take things to another level.

Think Geek

Warning, Think Geek is strictly for those who literally wear their geek hearts on a sleeve.  Think Geek is mainly known for selling its technology inspired clothing including shirts that also serve as Wi-Fi Detectors and music equalizers but, their gaming stuff is up to snuff also. In fact, there is an LED shirt inspired by Angry Birds Space that features an orbiting bird. Those looking for something that's less difficult to wash can get clothing inspired by the likes of Mass Effect, Minecraft, Bioshock Infinite and much more.

SplitReason

The great thing about SplitReason is that it simply doesn't just slap a video game character or phrase and call it a day. These truly original pieces are truly unique in inspiration and execution. There's even series of pieces that zombifies popular characters like Mega Man and Zelda

Insert Coin Clothing

Not only is Insert Coin Clothing based out of the UK, the site also fashionable items that's useful for both men and women. The site offers Street Fighter II leggings for crying out loud. There are also cool things like Assassin's Creed based bathrobes and even a letterman's jacket inspired by Hotline Miami. Be warned, because the site is based in the UK and the prices are high for even U.S. taste, this isn't going to appeal to everyone. For those willing to spend a little more to stand out, this is perfect.
