A new trailer for the "Shadowhunters Season 2" shows Valentine encouraging Jace Wayland to become evil. In the same promo, fans see Clary Fairchild and her mother clash.
Freeform has released a new look at the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 on the show's official Instagram page. The video shows Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood) now with his father Valentine, following his betrayal in the Season 1 Finale.
To recap, Jace turned his back on his Shadowhunter friends to side with Valentine. He thought that by going with his father, he would learn him more about himself. Apparently, Valentine wants to teach his son to be evil. This is what the trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 revealed.
Nearing the end of the video, Valentine tells Jace about his capabilities. He lures Jace into believing that he is more powerful than the other Shadowhunters or the Downworlders.
"You always felt more powerful than everyone else around you, because you are," Valentine tells Jace in the video.
Valentine wants Jace to feel just how powerful he is, so he tempts him to do evil things. A scene in the trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 shows Jace kill a Downworlder. The video also shows him fight off several men by himself. Will Jace give in to his father's wishes for him to be on the dark side?
Meanwhile, back at the New York Institute, Clary Fairchild (Katherine McNamara) makes it her mission to find Jace. However, her mother Jocelyn does not agree with her plan. The trailer for the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 shows Jocelyn warning Clary about the danger that awaits her if she pushes with her mission. Of course, Clary does not heed her mother's warnings and insists on finding Jace by herself.
