The Future Of NBA 2K17 Is Virtual Reality; Dishonored 2 Also Expected To Land In VR in 2017
The introduction of virtual reality in video gaming may have escalated pretty quickly. PSVR and HTC Vive brought almost all the games to its platform not to mention the latest Google Earth that allows people to travel across the world at the comfort of their homes. Despite the endless possibilities virtual reality brings, we still clearly don't see it coming in the sports genre. Not until now, that is.
NBA 2K17 VR Lands On PlayStation 4
According to a recent report, the NBA 2K series might deliver a VR experience for PlayStation 4. A leak revealed by Exophase hinted that NBA 2K17 will be a series of mini-games. The VR version will include party events, three-point shooting, challenges and time attack modes. Although, this has yet to be confirmed by PlayStation, Polygon revealed through a PlayStation insider that the company is now on its primary stage of development. There might be a chance for other gaming platforms to get this development soon too.
Dishonored 2 VR Being Considered By Arkane
Perhaps the future of games is poised for Virtual Reality. This time, a VR experience of Dishonored is being considered by Arkane. The game's level designer, Christopher Carrier said in an interview with Game Radar that the possibility of Dishonored 2 to land in VR is highly conceivable.
"We are thinking about it," Carrier said. "It's a level design dream and if it will happen, I would want it an original experience. It won't be part of Dishonored 1 or 2." He added.
This idea of having Dishonored on a virtual reality game's movement mostly dependent on teleportation is not a new concept. Stealth-action game series such as Batman:Arkham and the Rise of The Tomb Raider:Blood ties are both similar to Dishonored's game nature and it has worked perfectly well with the virtual reality experience. The release date of the upcoming game in VR is still yet to be unveiled by Bethesda.
