Xbox One Scorpio News And Updates: The Scorpio Will Dominate In Terms Of Performance

Ever since the release of the first Xbox back in 2001, Microsoft and Sony, the companies responsible for the Playstation and Xbox, have been competing in producing the best console they could offer the market. Both companies have bested one another in different console generations, with the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 winning their respective generations.

Coming off a disappointing Playstation 3 run, allowing the Xbox 360 to gain majority control of the market, Sony followed up the Playstation 4. The Playstation 4 immediately won the hearts of gamers with its no nonsense focus on gaming, performance at an affordable price in its first revel at E3 2013. Meanwhile the Xbox One had a shaky introduction to the public. It wasn't sure of its identity by focusing on sports and entertainment providing customers an all in one entertainment box that can play games.

Gamers simply didn't like this shift in focus and outright rejected Microsoft's marketing of the console. Along with DRM problems and the inclusion of a peripheral that failed to live up to its potential the Kinect that is included in every Xbox one which made the selling price $100 higher than Playstation 4, Xbox sold poorly in its release. Its safe to say that as of now, Playstation 4 is winning the war as it currently has more sales than the Xbox One.  But to counter this, Microsoft has an ace up its sleeve which is codenamed "Xbox One Scorpio."

Microsoft, aware of its recent mistakes is in the process of rectifying the problems plaguing the Xbox One. To spearhead the process, Microsoft announced two new Xbox One's. The first of which the Xbox One S, which is already available, is a smaller and cheaper version of the original Xbox One while having more features such as HDR gaming.

Since the Xbox One S' release, sales for the console have dramatically increased. The second console which still has a pending release date, the "Xbox One Scorpio" a complete overhaul of the first Xbox One is a vastly superior console, vastly improving every facet in performance of the original version while also providing 4K gaming.

Updates on the Xbox one have been far and few but Mark Williams, technical director at VooFoo Studios, developers of Mantis Burn Racing have said that the Xbox One Scorpio will dominate in terms of performance. According to the technical director, the Xbox One Scorpio will have significant advantage in memory bandwidth which will make games at 4K with 60fps.

This will curb Playstation 4's advantage of having more games at 60fps than the Xbox One. When asked about the issues on the leap between the original Xbox One and the newer Xbox One Scorpio, Mark Williams said that they should maintain a sense of parity between the two consoles in terms of function and gameplay. He then compared the difference as upgrading to a new graphics card on a gaming pc. Stay tuned for more updates on Xbox One Scorpio.
