Diablo 4 Rumors And Updates: Is Blizzard Making A Sequel To Diablo 3

The first Diablo game was one of the most iconic games ever made and essential created a new genre, the Isometric Action Role Playing Game. Diablo 2 improved upon its predecessor and actually surpassed it. Diablo 3, Blizzard's third attempt at the genre was considered a disaster at launch.

The game had all sorts of problem when released leading long time fans rejecting it. But that was not Blizzard's way. At first, this might be the end for fans of the game. Diablo 4 might never come to light. However, Blizzard, determined to fix their mistake, proceeded in slowly but surely turning things around.

Since its release in 2012, Blizzard improved and fixed everything about Diablo 3. The result is an overwhelmingly success as Diablo 3 is now considered one of the highest selling RPG's of all time. A well received expansion pack called Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls also helped with the game as it was released for home consoles.

This marks the first time for the Diablo franchise to be released on consoles since the first game. Diablo 3 turned their initial misfortunes around and restored the franchise's legacy thanks to Blizzard's commitment and persistence in improving their games. Now with the success of Diablo 3 recent turnaround, the question for Blizzard is: Will they make Diablo 4?

When following gaming trends, a hugely successful game is usually followed up by a sequel which will be released in 1-2 years. A lot of teasing of new content for Diablo from Blizzard this year have made fans speculating for Diablo 4. But it turned out to be new content for Diablo 3. This should come as a surprise for Blizzard as the company seldom follows gaming trends.

When looking at their past games, instead of rushing to release sequels on their successful games, Blizzard take a different approach by improving their games several years, even decades after its release. They provide a steady stream of updates, patches and expansion packs to constantly improve their games.

Although different from the norm, this method has brought success to the company evident by their consistent high quality games and their legions of fans. It is notable that they may have released fewer games than most game developers but Blizzard is still admired and respected by fans and their peers.

Its safe to assume then that it will be quite a while for Blizzard to release Diablo 4 as proven by their methods. But gamers should not fret as they can expect Blizzard to completely support Diablo 3 for years to come making the game that much better.
