In 2010, movie audiences fell I love with Kick-Ass, a humble comic-book nerd who turned into a bone-crushing superhero overnight. And while Kick-Ass 2 is right around the corner, it might not be the only time we get to see star Aaron Taylor-Johnson kicking butt while wearing tights.

According to an exclusive report by Deadline, Marvel is trying to convince Johnson to take on the role of Quicksilver in Avengers 2. This news comes only a month after the respective directors of both Avengers 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past announced that Quicksilver would be in their films. As far as the X-Men universe is concerned, we already know the role will be played by Evan Peters, who ironically started alongside Johnson in Kick-Ass. This would surely take the subtle rivalry between the two highly-anticipated Marvel films to an all-new level.

While nothing is confirmed about Johnson's casting as Quicksilver, he and Peters would represent very similarly-aged versions of the son of Magneto. This would mean that both Joss Whedon and Bryan Singer must go the extra mile to make their takes on the mutant stand out, even though its unclear how much of a role the character will play in either film.

Regardless of whether or not Johnson dons the sparky blue getup of Quicksilver, this won't be the first time 'Marvel' and 'Kick-Ass' are mentioned in the same sentence. Written by Mark Millar and drawn by John Romita Jr., the Kick-Ass comics are published on Marvel imprint Icon. The third volume of the series has officially launched, giving readers something to ride them over until the film launches later this summer.

Kick-Ass 2 the film launches on August 16, and will have Johnson once again playing the role of Dave Lizewski alongside Chloe Grace-Moretz' Hit Girl. With Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) turned into a full-on villain for the film, Kick-Ass and Hit Girl have a whole new fight ahead of them. While we're not certain whether or not the man behind the Kick-Ass mask will be suiting up for the Marvel universe, he certainly had the résumé for it. Would you like to see Johnson play the role of Quicksilver for Avengers 2?
