There are also leaked information that Microsoft has had an internal announcement that the smartphone will be released on February 2017. This is also where the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be launched, so there is a high chance that the two devices may be released simultaneously.
Just recently, Microsoft has released refresh updates to the Surface Pro 4. The incremental upgrade somewhat puzzles many of its fans at the tech giant seems to be holding off the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. However, we just have to wait a couple more months for the next iteration to come out. While there are no official statements from Microsoft just yet, fans have been eagerly anticipating the two devices as rumors suggest that both the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 and the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would be packing extremely powerful specs and features.
The Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is rumored to feature AMOLED display panels, Intel Kaby Lake chipsets, at least 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, Windows 10 Mobile, and the Continuum feature.
