God of War 4 may be facing a delay if rumors prove to be true. Recent job openings for God of War 4 raise concerns for fans that development is not going smoothly.
Sony Santa Monica Studios, the studio behind God of War 4 and its previous games in the series, has continuously posting invitations for new members to join the the team behind God of War 4. People have speculated that the development for the game will be longer since the new members will have to learn the ropes for them to contribute to the game. It can also mean that the current team is having trouble meeting deadlines and needs to expand the team.
Fans on Twitter have asked Cory Balrog, creative director for Sony Santa Monica, if the new members would affect the development for God of War 4. The director then rejected their notion assuring fans that the new employees will actually help speed up the process. But then again, otherwise will not help the company and God of War 4 as fans will be disappointed knowing that the game will be delayed. Cory Balrog's statement should be taken with a grain of salt.
Fans anticipate the relese of God of War 4 by 2018 if everything goes smoothly. God of War 4 is set several years after the ambiguous ending of God of War 3. God of War 4 is now set with an emphasis on Norse Mythology replacing their Greek Mythology roots of the previous games.
God of War 4 features a more subdued Kratos who now is a father to a son. Based on the brief gameplay demo, the father and son dynamic will be at the forefront of the gameplay similar to the Last of Us. As stated earlier, the game now has ties with Norse Mythology and will probably include Norse Gods.
Kratos' son will play a significant role for the game with Kratos the father, will teach his son survival and battle skills. Reports also suggest that the son will be the future Nordic God of Thunder, Thor. If that is the case, will God of War 4 be the last game featuring Kratos as the primary protagonist, passing the torch to his son Thor. Stay tuned for more updates on God of War 4.
