‘Minecraft’ News: Microsoft Announces the Biggest Update of the Year; Console Edition Holiday Update is Coming in December!

"Minecraft" is getting a new update and it looks great! Microsoft revealed that the game will have it by December so it is called the Holiday Update. It will bring many good things Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles.

On Nov. 22, Jeff Rivait, product marketing official of Minecraft, shared about the upcoming updates for consoles on Xbox website. "Since adding banners, beets and polar bears with our last update in October, the team has been hard at work on our biggest "Minecraft" console update of the year - the Holiday Update!" he proudly announced.

Rivait went on to state that once the "Minecraft" Holiday update arrives, players will have access to new mobs, blocks, items and status effects. Additionally, gamers will be treated to UI and various tutorial updates for the game.

He also posted some sneak peek of the "Minecraft" Holiday update but insisted that he is not revealing much. In any case, here are a few of the things he listed down:

Use the New Elytra to Fly

It in the description, it says that if you gets sick of walking around the ground, the new Elytra is there to provide relief. Using the new "Minecraft" Elytra will enable players to glide or fly through air.

Find Update in ‘The End'

Go and locate Elytra at "Minecraft" The End Cities where End Ships, chorus plants, purpur and flowers will be there as well. Shulkers may also turn up along the way, hiding within the purpur, so extra care is needed.

New Potions

Leave some status effects for a friend by using Dragon's Breath to produce Lingering Potions. More on the status effects, the upcoming "Minecraft" update will add new ones like Levitation and Luck.

Amplified Terrain

For "Minecraft" players who are just starting out the game on their PS4 or Xbox, they can turn on the Amplified Terrain to scour down mountains and valleys. Elytra will also be useful in this option.

Finally, the "Minecraft" Holiday update is the last improvement for the console edition, for this year. Microsoft promised to release more details before the update comes out for free in December.
