NBA News: Same Old Problem ForThe Sacramento Kings As Omri Casspi And Head Coach Dave Joerger Don't Talk To Each Other

New season, new players, new coach, new beginning for the Sacramento Kings.  That's how it's supposed to be this season for the Sacramento Kings.  But no.  This is the Sacramento Kings that we're talking about.  The same old problems that has plagued the team in the past few seasons have been rearing its ugly head again this season.   Players not happy. Players complaining about playing time. Players clashing with coaches.  The list goes on. Add forward Omri Casspi to that list.

In a report by Matt George of Cowbell Kingdom, Sacramento Kings head coach Dave Joeger held a team meeting recently.  Dave Joeger talked to the team regarding his plan about the team's rotation during games.  Omri Casspi was not included in that rotation.  When asked if Dave Joerger talked to him about the rotation, Omri Casspi just said, "We haven't talked since preseason. It was a team-wide meeting only."

That statement pretty much sums up what kind of state the Sacramento Kings are in right now.  It kind of solidifies the reputation of the Sacramento Kings as a dysfunctional team.

After a season of career highs under former head coach George Karl in the 2015-2016 NBA season, in which Omri Casspi played 69 games and started in 21 of those games, the Sacramento Kings forward hasn't seeing that much floor time this season.  After not playing a single second in the Sacramento Kings loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Omri Casspi has only played in 6 of the first 12 games of the season.  As for the reason why, Omri Casspi said he doesn't understand why.

When asked about being called a defensive liability Cowbell Kingdom's Matt George, Omri Casspi pointed out his play from last season.

"Last year, I started a majority of the games and I was guarding the best threes and fours night in and night out," Omri Casspi said. "The easy way out when you are a player like me is to call it defense. I don't remember any guy going off on me last year."

Omri Casspi, 28, was drafted by the Sacramento Kings 23rd overall in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft, making him the first Israeli to be drafted in the first round and later on became the first Israeli to play in an NBA game.  In 8 seasons in the NBA, Omri Casspi has played for the Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets.
