Destiny graphics for Xbox One will be different from that of PS4: Bungie

We are still not sure about the amount of graphics difference we might see for different consoles when running the same title, and we might have to wait a bit more to find out about that. However, there is already some indication that the same title might look different in different platforms, and the game in question here is none other than the massively expected Destiny from Bungie.

While we are still waiting to see as to how much difference there will be with the graphics and detailing of a title in different platforms, Bungie has already passed on information that Destiny aims to offer different visuals when run on different consoles. Sounds unfair? Depends on perspectives, and Bungie is entitled to its own.

In an interview with NowGamer, Bungie president Harold Ryan, when asked about this difference of visuals in different consoles, confirmed that the upcoming online shooter’s graphics will indeed vary from platform to platform.

However, the confirmation came without any relevance to the larger picture as Ryan didn’t mention (although hinted) anything about the kind of difference we might see between the current gen consoles and next generation. And more importantly, between PS4 and Xbox One.

"We’re not committing right now to any specific platform features. The great thing for us with timing is that we were making a new engine, and then two new consoles were coming out, which led us to invest more into making the new engine for it,” Ryan stated.

"There are a whole bunch of great opportunities for us to go after, like full player experiences, etc. We’re investigating all of those and building the core experience of Destiny, which will be similar across all the platforms. The graphics are different, obviously, platform to platform, but in a connected world, the game of Destiny is going to be awesome on all of them."

Additionally, with Bungie’s confirmation of Destiny coming for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4, but not PC, has left several fans disappointed and the game’s writer and design director Joseph Staten is one of them.

Staten has acknowledged that the news in “painful” for most gamers who are still loyal to the PC platform, although he didn’t mention anything about the prospect of the title coming to PC in the future.

"Well, I can't talk about it. I mean, obviously we'd love to be on as many platforms as possible," Staten told Gamespot. "We want to get the game into as many hands as we can. But we're not talking about PC right now. I know it's painful; every time someone asks me that question I can see it in their eyes."

Destiny is currently set for a spring 2014 release for PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One.
