Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U still hanging in balance - Mark Rubin has details, or does he?

It was not that long ago when we reported that Infinity Ward’s upcoming first person shooter title Call of Duty: Ghosts might just arrive on the almost forgotten Wii u console from Nintendo. Things, however, seem to have taken a huge turn with the game’s probability on the console still hanging in balance, and might eventually be scrapped entirely.

Early last week, Call of Duty: Ghosts producer Mark Rubin stated during E3 that a Wii U release for the game was a probability and falls under the next-gen category, although refraining from mentioning any real details about the titles port to the Wii U.

“That's probably in the next-gen bin, but we're not actually talking about Wii U yet.’Cause we want to keep it mysterious," he told on stage at the E3

And while we all went on to make our own assumptions thinking the Wii U would eventually get the port, there have been some new revelations that speak otherwise, and this time it’s again from the same man who started it all off – Mark Rubin.

In a recent interview with GamesIndustry International, Rubin “clarified” most of what was said at the E3, with a number of assumptions following it. He stated: “Ha! You know that's funny, because I don't even know the answer to that. I swear to God, I don't. I was trying to say in the interview [that] I really don't know and I'm not supposed to talk about it. I'm not supposed to talk about the fact that I don't know.”

When pressed a bit more on the issue, and as to how the game might work on the Wii U’s hardware, Rubin clarified: “I imagine [it could], yeah. If you look at the hardware specs, I think it would be more in line with 360 and PS3, but I'm not sure. There could be some things [in the hardware] that bump it up a little higher than that," he answered. "I haven't played with it enough to know. I have one at home, and I think it's cool; I can't stop playing ZombiU.”

So to round off all we have heard and assumed: It’s not necessary that Ghosts will end up reaching the Wii U, and only time will tell if the Wii U owners will be treated to the game or if it will end up to be another dry and frustrating spell.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently scheduled for a release on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
