'Injustice 2' Release Date, News & Updates: Are Fans Going To See The Watchmen?

"Injustice 2" is an upcoming fighting video game being developed by Netherrealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the sequel to 2013's "Injustice: Gods Among Us." In line with the success of its predecessor, "Injustice 2" continues to move along in development for an intended release next year. With a character roster stacked from Detective Comic's (DC) heroes and rouges gallery, fans are wondering who else can join the fun?

According to WWG, "Injustice 2" director Ed Boon has released a poll asking fans if they would want to see characters from the "Watchmen" comic book series. As for the latest results, there seems to be an overwhelming demand for these characters as the YES votes tallied 74 percent while the NO votes have only 26 percent.

In connection to this, Twinfinite has posted five fan favorite characters from the "Watchmen" universe in the hopes of answering Boon's question regarding Watchmen characters than could possibly make it to the growing roster of "Injustice 2." This includes Edward Blake also known as "The Comedian," Dr Manhattan (formerly known as John Osterman), Silk Spectre ll (Laurie Juspeczyk), Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt) and Rorschach (Walter Kovacs).

Going back, it is worth noting that here has been no confirmation from Ed Boon regarding this so-called poll. The only thing that is certain is the fact that if indeed the Watchmen will be on "Injustice 2," they will a valuable addition to the cast. Fans will love to see the likes of Dr. Manhattan fight it out against Superman or Wonder Woman when the game is released. Fans are expecting the game to be released in 2017.

"Watchmen" is a twelve-issue comic book limited series created by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, and John Higgins which was published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987. Watchmen focus on six main characters: the Comedian, Doctor Manhattan, the Nite Owl, Ozymandias, Rorschach and the Silk Spectre.
