'Watch Dogs 2' Latest Update: Games Delivers Slow Sales Turn-Over; Ubisoft Remains Unfazed a & Confident

"COD: Infinite Warfare" is still the number one game in GFK Chart-tracks despite the release of "Watch Dogs 2." The sci-fi shooter game introduced by Activision is now in its 3rd week and remains unfazed. This basically suggests that "Watch Dogs 2" is at a very alarming start.

GFK reported that "COD: Infinite Warfare" has warded off "Watch Dogs 2," notwithstanding the latter's entry in the market. The report already anticipated the upcoming Black Friday sale. GFK, however, only covers physical game sales. Since "Watch Dogs 2" has not yet released the game on PC, the final ranking will have to wait until November 30. The result, however, about this launch is disappointing.

Ubisoft, in response to the news, said to Eurogamer that they are happy with critics' and players' reception of "Watch Dogs 2." The company further added that although the first day sales are low, they are expecting to gain ahead of competitors in the coming weeks. It added that there is a trend toward high-quality games, to have stronger and longer tails as favorable reviews and word of mouth spreads. Ubisoft noted that "Watch Dogs 2" is a tremendous addition to the open-world action adventure series and that they are confident more players will love it.

Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO, said in an interview that the pre-order numbers only reflected caution from gamers. Although Ubisoft is not the only one to have experienced low release sales, other triple-A titles are also not selling well. Games like "Titanfall 2," "Dishonored 2," and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" are also suffering from low release turnout. One factor that is worth considering is the buyers' choice of saving money for Black Friday. Ubisoft has a lot of riding on "Watch Dogs 2" as it is the company's only triple-A game released this holiday season.
