'The Headphone' News & Update: Bragi's Wireless Headphones Pose as a Viable Competitor Against Apple AirPods

Along with the exciting reveal of the iPhone 7 this year were the Apple AirPods, wireless headphones to accommodate the headphone jack-less smartphone. Many complained, many made memes, and to date, the Apple AirPods are nowhere to be found. Enter Bragi's The Headphone, a viable competitor against Apple AirPods.

Bragi isn't new to the wireless headphones scene. In fact, the already released a groundbreaking wireless headphones back in 2013. Being new to the scene, there were some downsides to the product. So Bragi took everyone's comments and refurbished the wireless headphones and came up with what they now call the Dash. But now that Apple has singlehandedly created a demand for more wireless headphones (and inadvertently not releasing the Apple AirPods just yet), Bragi has something new to offer.

According to Engadget, Bragi's The Headphones pose as a viable competitor against Apple AirPods. It costs $149, just $10 less than its Apple counterpart. Unlike the Dash that experienced a lot of connectivity issues, the Headphones provide excellent connectivity with the smartphone and with each other.

In addition, Bragi's The Headphone also features a transparency mode that is able to combine ambient noise in your surroundings with your music. In terms of sound quality, Bragi's The Headphone is great. Both the bass and high midrange frequencies are moderate, unlike many other headphones in the market today.

According to The Verge, Bragi's The Headphones has six hours of battery life, which is pretty good for wireless. Unlike the Dash, however, the Headphones have physical buttons on the right earbud, which will force you to press in your ear for controls. Speaking of ears, the Headphones don't have an odd looking rod sticking out of your ear like the Apple AirPods. It's one for aesthetic, but it does look better than AirPods that look like someone just took a scissors and cut the wire.

Despite its subpar audio quality, however, it seems that Bragi's The Headphones are still a viable competitor against Apple AirPods. They are set to arrive very soon, unlike the Apple counterparts that do not have a release date attached to them yet.
