Chicago Bulls News, Rumors: Jimmy Butler Trade Rumors Re-Emerge, Update on Michael Carter-Williams Latest Injury

Jimmy Butler's name has been a subject of trade speculations the past two seasons. And despite putting up career-high numbers so far, the two-time NBA All-Star will continue to be linked to various trade possibilities throughout the entire year.

Butler, who is averaging career-best 25.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 16 games, has emerged as one of the trade targets by his former coach Tom Thibodeau.

Sources close to situation reported that the Timberwolves coach and GM is exploring a trade that will bring in a player who already played under him during his time with the Bulls.

Butler indeed developed into a full-fledged two-way star while playing for Thibodeau. As a matter of fact, he's the most enticing trade target for the up-and-coming Wolves.

Unfortunately, trading for a superstar-caliber player like Butler would require the Wolves to surrender one of their young stars (Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine), which is an unlikely scenario.

-Point guard Michael Carter-Williams was scheduled to make his return from a knee injury next week before MRI revealed that he sustained bone chip in his wrist.

Jeff Zigglist of USA Today via ESPN Roto World reported the former Rookie of the Year will miss additional four to six weeks due to the recent injury.

"I'm definitely ahead of schedule,'' Carter-Williams said before the wrist injury. "My knee feels great. I just got to find the measure between how hard I can go without hurting it furthermore, so I'm just testing the limit right now. Just trying to get back to 100 percent.''

Williams, who was acquired by the Bulls in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks before the start of the season, missed the last 13 games after tweaking his knee last October 30.

Isaiah Canaan and Jeriah Grant are switching turns to fill in his role in the Bulls backcourt rotation.
