NBA Trade Rumors: Brandon Knight Made Available As Phoenix Suns Shops Around For Possible Suitors

NBA Trade Rumors: Brandon Knight Made Available As Phoenix Suns Shops Around For Possible Suitors

The NBA trade market is starting to heat up.  With the 2016-2017 NBA almost a month old, front offices of teams around the NBA already have a better understanding and a better gauge of their team's performance and what direction they're headed for the season.

The date to look out for is Dec. 15.  That's the date that's marked in every NBA team's calendar because on Dec. 15, that's when all NBA players that are signed as free agents during the off season will be allowed to be included in trades.  Those contracts are important when making deals because they make the financial aspects of the deals work.

While there may not be any blockbuster deals, like the rumored Carmelo Anthony and Paul George trade involving three teams, that are coming soon, there are, however, some less jaw-dropping deals that are expected to be done.

One such deal involves Phoenix Suns point guard Brandon Knight.  The Phoenix Suns have reportedly made Brandon Knight available for trades and are shopping for interested suitors.  While the Phoenix Suns are currently trying to see what's the trade value of Brandon Knight,  Phoenix Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough has denied reports that they made Brandon Knight available to other NBA teams.  At least not yet.

In a recent guesting on the Burns & Gambo radio show in Phoenix, Ryan McDonough said that he isn't actively pursuing a trade for Brandon Knight and that he'd like evaluate the team first  for at least two months before seriously considering making any trades.

Brandon Knight has struggled so far this season in a reserve role.  In fact since being traded to the Phoenix Suns from the Milwaukee Bucks, Brandon Knight has not been able to fit with the Phoenix Suns offense.

This season, Brandon Knight has so far just started four games averaging 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in just 25.1 minutes per game.  He's shooting just 38.4% from the field.  Last season, Brandon Knight started in 50 games.

The stats doesn't look enticing, but do keep in mind that Brandon Knight is just 24 years old and already in his sixth season in the NBA. A young veteran.  He's also shown what he can do during his stints with the Detroit Piston and the Milwaukee Bucks.  So expect a lot of teams to be calling the Phoenix Suns if the trade rumors are true about Brandon Knight's availability.
