‘Constantine' Season 2 Release Date, Update: Matt Ryan Talks Show's Future, More CW Cameos

"Constantine" Season 2 might happen if Matt Ryan's recent interview is any indication of the show's return. The actor talked about the Hellblazer's whereabouts in a recent interview and his interest to reprise John Constantine on screen.

Comicbook caught up with Ryan at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in Georgia, Atlanta, where he talked about "Constantine" Season 2. He admitted that he does not know if the instalment will happen.  However, he expressed his appreciation to the fans, who have endlessly showed their support for the character.

Ryan especially thanked the fans who rallied around him and the show after NBC cancelled the series. He said the supporters have been "hardcore" and the response to the show has so far been fantastic.

In the same interview with Comicbook, Ryan revealed what the Hellblazer could be up to now had NBC given "Constantine" Season 2 the green light. The actor said that John Constantine would probably be back in Hell smoking cigarettes with the devil.

Regardless of the cancellation, Ryan expressed his interest to reprise the character even in cameo appearances only. He would be willing to cameo as John Constantine in any of The CW shows, including DC's "Arrow" and "The Flash."

The last time Matt Ryan portrayed Constantine was in "Arrow" Season 4 Episode 5. However, with the crossover happening, there might be a chance to see the Hellblazer back on screen again.

Suffice to say, the fate of "Constantine" Season 2 ever happening remains bleak. There have been speculations that The CW or Netlflix might be the show's new home. However, both networks have remained mum about these speculations.

In the meantime, with "Constantine" Season 2 still up in the air, Matt Ryan returns as the Hellblazer in "Justice League Dark." He voices John Constantine in the animated movie.
