This coming December 5 based is United States time zone; "Android 7.1.1 Nougat" is going live and as expected Nexus devices will get a first crack on latest mobile OS update from Google. Confirmed to make the jump via the over the air (OTA) update are the LG Nexus 5X, the Huawei Nexus 6P and the HTC Nexus 9 tablet.
Hybrid Pixel C device and the Asus Nexus Player are possibly on the list too, according to Fone Arena; picking up on the update announcement provided by Vodafone Australia. It is also believed that the global update rollout will be acquired by compatible "Nexus" devices that will include the Motorola Nexus 6 and the Asus-made Nexus 7 2013.
Weighing around 650MB, the heavy "7.1.1 Nougat" is combined with a new feature that "allows developer to add application shortcuts; while image keyboard support introduces some Gboard functionality to Android with GIF entry and rich content," -as reported by Google.
For the other Android-based devices, it occurs that the latest they have is "7.0 Nougat" and the first prospects are the Motorola handsets that once belonged to Google. Now under Lenovo, the Moto G4 and G4 Plus are said to absorb 7.0 Nougat no later than December 2016.
Motorola has announced that "7.0 Nougat" will also examine for the old models but the device maker is not yet ready to reveal.
"Android 7.0 Nougat" will also set to take place for the current Samsung flagship phones but the definite timing remains unknown as the OS jump is still in beta stage for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. There is no indication from Samsung if older handset models will turn to Nougat platforms anytime soon.
"Android 7.1.1 Nougat" is also planned to hit the Pixel and Pixel XL, which contains a number of bug fixes alongside double-tap and raise-to-wake features.
