Details on the Apple iMac 2017 remain elusive and fans are confused as to what to expect from the device when it is released. Despite, Apple not announcing it in its October event and staying silent on its specs and features, numerous reports have flooded the Internet on its rumored specs. Fans have to rely on these reports to have an idea about what the device will bring to the table.

The Apple iMac was last updated in 2015 wherein the bigger versions got the Skylake chipset and the smaller ones a Retina Display. Year 2017 is going to big for Apple as it will also be celebrating iPhone's 10th anniversary. Recent reports have suggested that the Apple iMac 2017 will be delayed further as Apple is planning on the iPhone 8 device.

Other reports have claimed that the Apple iMac 2017 is getting delayed due to the unavailability of the Intel Kaby Lake chipset. If that is the case, the device can be expected in the first quarter of 2017 as the processors are slated to arrive by the end of 2016.

Apple has settled for the sixth-generation Skylake processors for the MacBook Pro 2016 and wants the Kaby Lake one for the iMac 2017. There is also a possibility of the iMac getting an Intel Xeon core processor. Such processors are used only in high-end workstations and servers. The Xeon chipset can support error-correcting code memory.

The Apple iMac 2017's other rumored features include AMD Polaris 10/11 graphic chip, fingerprint scanner, OLED Touch Bar and VR functions. As per Macworld, AMD has constantly promoted its Polaris chips as a way of bringing VR to the wider market of PC users.
