HTC 10 News & Update: HTC Announces Android 7.0 Nougat for Unlocked HTC 10 Units

The unlocked HTC 10 will have the Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, it is only available in the United States at the moment.

On Nov. 25, HTC USA announced via Twitter that the unlocked HTC 10 is receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat. The company further stated that users can expect the update to roll out soon but actually, it is already available to those who own the said mobile unit.

The Android Nougat update for unlocked HTC 10 presents the software version 2.28.617.8. It was said that it also contains Google's security patch that was released in November and it is packed with system enhancements for better over-all performance.

Moreover, the Android 7.0 Nougat on unlocked HTC 10 offers nice features that are not yet found in previous mobile OS. Some examples of brand-new features are split screen on mobile, customizable quick settings and direct or quick reply from notifications.

The unlocked HTC 10 mobile units are one of the first few smartphones to have the newest Google's operating system. Nougat 7.0 was released in October so not many mobile units have it at the moment.

Now, since the Android 7.0 Nougat is only available for unlocked HTC 10's in the U.S. It was not mentioned whether HTC has any intention of releasing it outside of the region. So far, the other smartphones running on Nougat include Samsung Galaxy S7 (beta version) and LG V20.

HTC 10 phones are considered one of the best among newly-introduced mobiles. It has the Optical Image Stabilization for front and rear cameras. Its LCD display measures 5.2 inches and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Lastly, the HTC 10 boasts of Quad-core Snapdragon 820 processing unit and it comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256 GB. Meanwhile, everyone can take advantage of the HTC Cyber Monday to buy their HTC 10 with Android 7.0 Nougat units at less $200.
