Ed Boon keeps teasers coming for Injustice's next DLC character, our money's on Zatanna

Ed Boon, boss of Injustice: Gods Among Us developer NeatherRealm studios is still throwing out "clues" for the next DLC character that will arrive for the DC brawler, and we like to think we have it figured out.

Apparently, the next character has something to do with the band The Cars, and Upside Down, according to Boon's Twitter. On their own, the clues don't mean much. Add them together with some Batman like detective skills, and it looks like they're pointing in the direction of the band's hit "Magic," in which "upside down" is an opening lyric.

Couple this with previous twitter teases Boon as dropped, and in all likelihood, the next character will be the practicing magician and Justice League member, Zatanna, who definitely is, as Boon described, "a fan favorite request." Whoever it is, he or she will be the sixth DLC character after the recent addition of the Martian Manhunter, and like the Manhunter, won't be on any sort of season pass.

There's close to 30 characters that feature in Injustice, and that's just counting the selectable ones, many of whom are some of the standouts from DC Comics: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, a great many Justice League regulars, as well as classic villains like the Joker, Doomsday, Lex Luthor and more.

DLC has added in even more notables from the DC universe to keep fans happy, those being Lobo, Batgirl, Zod, and Mortal Kombat's own Scorpion, all available on the game's season pass. Given that the same company now in charge of Mortal Kombat, NeatherRealm Studios, developed Injustice, you can see why Scorpion is in it.

Set in an alternate universe, Injustice: Gods Among sees Superman reign in as a dictatorial figure after a horrific attack hits Metropolis, courtesy of the Joker. Superman's new role doesn't seem to sit well with some of the remaining members of the Justice League, as well as their enemies, forcing a team up between the two traditionally opposed groups to take Supes down.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is out now for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, PC, PlayStation 3, and a free-to-play version is out for various iOS devices.

We'll keep you posted once Boon confirms the identity of the next DLC character.
