'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' Latest News & Updates: The Game Has Been Modified To Include Interchangeable Weather Patterns

After years of terrorizing, "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" went through a modification, which includes interchangeable weather patterns. Each of these is designed to modify fighter playstyles.

According to PC Gamer, modders Luke Millanta and Lewis Palfrey presents varying weather patterns to "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" most known maps, dust2 and extends to its cache, mirage and overpass arenas. "There is a pool of ten different weather patterns. At the start of each round one of these weather patterns is selected," reads the description of the mod's Steam Workshop.

Millanta said that the concept for the manipulable weather in the game came up in August. However, it required someone's support with better versed in map making, which Lewis Palfrey, who is best known for his work within the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" and "GoldenEye: Source" communities, helped Millanta accomplish.

"When raining it is harder to both hear enemies approaching and to see without the aid of a sniper rifle," Millanta told Eurogamer during a talk on the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" weather modification. He explained that this means that while the opponent might have an advantage while making use of the Arctic Warfare Magnum sniper rifle (AWP), which is known for its one-hit kills, it would be less difficult for the stealthy players to slip through the AWPers.

Furthermore, fog, thunder and sandstorms are among the weather conditions that alter tactics on "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive." Millanta also said that the feedback has been pretty good so far. The game is a multiplayer staple that pits teams against each other as they try to rule elaborate maps with more guns.

"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game. It was developed by Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve Corporation and the fourth game in the main "Counter-Strike" franchise for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and Linux, Macintosh operating systems.
