'Pokemon Sun and Moon’ Guide: How to Get the Waterium Z to Get Hydro Vortex

One of the most sought after Z-move for players with water-type Pokemon in their party is the Waterium Z. This Water Z Crystal allows the majority of water-type Pokemon to upgrade their water move into the powerful Hydro Vortex. And when the move is finally acquired, it creates a big whirling water wave that eats up the opponent in full force. Its effect, however, differs depending on the original move.

How to Get the Waterium Z?

Waterium Z can be found in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" first island, Melemele Island. Players will be close to getting it when they finally reach Route 5 after Paniola Ranch. The path ahead leads to a trial with the captain, Lana, in Brooklet Hill. Route 6 will not be accessible as a couple of Sudowoodo have the path blocked.

As players follow the path to Lana, they will first battle with Gladion of Team Skull and a few trainers. Up ahead is a Pokemon center so players can regenerate health and stat before heading to Brooklet Hill and face the captain. Upon meeting Lana, she will register the Ride Lapras to the player's Ride Pager which will allow the player to finally surf the water.

Defeating Wishiwashi in "Pokemon Sun and Moon"

Lana's trial requires the player to solve the mystery disturbing Brooklet Hill's pools and lakes. As players go and investigate the disturbance, they later figure out that it is all caused by a Wild Wishiwashi and they will need to defeat it to win the challenge.

The best strategy to use in defeating Wishiwashi is to focus on decreasing its HP until it evolves back to its school form. In this form, it's much easier to defeat and even catch if the player likes. Upon winning the battle, Lana will give the Z Crystal move Waterium Z and a fishing rod.
