The Xbox Scorpio is one that many may be looking forward to, but very little has been known from the particular console so far-all but one. To add to that, there will finally be more word being thrown out by the team behind it.

As some may know, Microsoft's Xbox Scorpio has quite the resume behind it, or at least on how it is being marketed. As the particular piece of hardware has the world itching to know more, Microsoft divulged one bit of news that may both prepare and disappoint the fans.

According to recent reports, one of the latest revelations about the Xbox Scorpio is that it will be more expensive than the predecessors, as per Microsoft's Phil Spencer. This is addressed closer towards the Xbox One S, but not on a massive scale. For those unaware, the Xbox One S is the latest big entry in the console line and is considered a premium.

For the time being, no price can be withheld yet pertaining to the Xbox Scorpio apart from the aforementioned. As for the release date, the Xbox Scorpio was said to presumably land on the holidays of 2017 or the Christmas season. Spencer justified that it may be too early to divulge news, but he wishes to inform fans as much as possible without having to cross the line.

Performance-wise, the Xbox Scorpio has been noted as the most powerful console to come, even with the likes of the PlayStation VR and Nintendo Switch. It will don six teraflops of graphical performance, even being three teraflops below the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. It is expected to also battle alongside the GTX 970 if not to topple it, but with such credentials, the competition favors the Microsoft hardware ultimately.

Will fans see the Xbox Scorpio sooner than expected? Or will the wait have to be an extensive one? Let us know what you think and sound off in the comments section below. Until then, stay locked to GamenGuide for more news and updates.
