‘Game of Thrones' Season 7 Plot Spoilers, Cast Update: New Lord of Frey Replaces Walder Frey

‘Game of Thrones' Season 7 Plot Spoilers, Cast Update: New Lord of Frey Replaces Walder Frey

"Game of Thrones" may introduce a new Lord of Frey after Walder Frey. Recent casting updates for the instalment hinted that actor Brendan Morrissey has been cast for the role.

Brendan Morrissey, an Irish actor, is now part of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. According to details from his agency, he plays the new Lord of Frey in the instalment. He appears in an episode directed by Jeremy Podeswa.

So far, details about Borrissey's role and appearances in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 remain scarce. However, according to Watchers on the Wall, the actor could very well be Walder Frey's successor, following the latter's death in Season 6.

To recap, Season 6 ended with Arya Stark slitting the lord's throat. Arya disguised herself as one of his servants and changed her appearance using what she learned from the faceless man.

Obviously, this means Walder Frey is very much dead in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. There have been no reports as well, that David Bradley will reprise the character. This means, there is no reigning Lord of Frey when the new season opens.

However, according to Watchers on the Wall, it is likely that Brendan Morrissey appears as the new Lord of Frey in the season premiere. Given that Jeremy Podeswa will direct the first episode, it is a safe bet that Morrissey plays the reigning Lord of Frey when "Game of Thrones" Season 7 opens.

Meanwhile, the addition of Brendan Morrissey hints to Arya Stark's whereabouts when "Game of Thrones" Season 7 opens. It is possible that she remains at the Twins when she learns about the existence of another Lord of Frey. Arya has vengeance on her mind, after the death of her brother Rob and her mother.

Arya wants to kill all the members of the Frey family who were there at the Red Wedding. The Freys murdered her mother and brother and she wants them dead. It may not be enough that she already killed Walder Frey, Lothar and Black Walder. Perhaps Arya Stark will kill the new Lord of Frey too in "Game of Thrones" Season 7.
