'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Release Date, News & Update: Ryder and Magnificent Seven Crew To Debut; Two New Alien Races To Arrive? [GAMEPLAY]

It's been two years since role-playing game developer Bioware had last released a "Mass Effect" game, which makes the 2017 release of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" even more exciting for video gamers around the world. It's made even more special by its massive overhaul, from the change in playable protagonists to a new spot in the universe where humanity tries to find a new home.

Thankfully, there's no shortage of news about what people can expect from "Mass Effect: Andromeda." For one, the game will finally be introducing a slew of new characters into the game as well as playable locations. But what lies in store for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" spectators?

New characters

For one, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is trading in its previous lead character, for a novice adventurer named Ryder, according to Digital Trends. The new hero in the Mass Ryder is referred to as a pathfinder, and is responsible for venturing into the Andromeda galaxy's Helius cluster in a mission to look for viable planets for humanity. Polygon, meanwhile, reported that Ryder will only be available as a human character, and that the male and female options for the said character are actually siblings with default names as Scott and Sara.

Magnificent Seven crew

Ryder will be joined by his/her Magnificent Seven crew in "Mass Effect: Andromeda," but so far there's only news about two of the seven team mates. The first one is named Drack, whom Ryder can earn loyalty from if s/he defends Krogan settlements and ships. The other team mate is called Cora, who is able to drop a biotic shield to protect Ryder from enemy fire.

Two more acquaintances

Not only that, Ryder will also get to know two new alien races in "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The first is called the Remnant, who has a hold on forgotten technology to gaining power in the galaxy. The second is called Keth, who appear to be the main aggressors in "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
