Nikki Bella was the captain of Team SmackDown at the Survivor Series but she was attacked minutes before the match. There are a lot of suspects for the attack but the latest rumors might have revealed who it was.
In Nikki's absence, Natalya took the spot but she was not able to help Team SmackDown win. Team Raw led by Bayley and Charlotte defeated the blue brand but it was the mystery attacked that got everyone's attention.
Many fans believed that it was Carmella, who is in the middle of the feud with Nikki for the past several months. Others say it is Natalya so that she can take the spot of captain. However, those two superstars are not her attacker, per The Wrestling Observer.
The report noted that the attack was done not because of Nikki's surgically-repaired neck but as part of a storyline. It is expected that the former Divas champion will end the feud with Carmella at WWE TLC 2016 this coming Sunday.
On the other hand, Natalya is a veteran and no one benefits from a feud with Nikki. According to Corey Jacobs of WrestlingNews.co, the WWE might wait until WrestleMania 33 season to reveal Nikki's attacker.
Jacobs believe that the company should use current SmackDown Women's champion, Becky Lynch, as a heel. The WWE can always use the jealousy angle to kickoff the program which will culminate at WrestleMania 33.
Lynch has said in several interviews that she would love to turn heel when people least expect it. However, turning her heel is a very big risk since she is very popular with a lot of fans. If she feuds with a babyface Nikki, there is a real possibility that John Cena's girlfriend gets the Cena treatment.
Nevertheless, the WWE can go a lot of ways on this angle. The returning Eva Marie could be the attacked which in turn benefits Nikki. Eva is a heat magnet and the fans will surely cheer Nikki if she is against "Ms. All Red Everything."
