UFC Champ Conor Mcgregor Gains Boxing License As Mayweather Jr. Brags $100M Retirement Check

Fighting fans express their excitement as they read news claiming UFC champ Conor Mcgregor has been granted a boxing license. The license was issued in the state of California and reports point to the cage fighter applying for other licenses in different states. It is speculated that the fighter is in talks with Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s camp for a blockbuster showdown.

Conor Mcgregor's agent Audie Attar, purportedly confirmed that they were "very interested" to book a match Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Sun reports that the cage fighter's coach believes strongly that the planned fight will happen "next year."

On a previous article by The Sun, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor Mcgregor have reportedly set the purse agreement. The boxer was supposedly going to earn an estimated $126 million, while the UFC champ takes home $8 million. The website says that a source told them Mayweather got angry after Mcgregor claimed to "crush him" and get a knock out in "30 seconds." The fight is going to be in favor of Mayweather due to the boxing rules being applied.

Other sources suspect that the anticipated fight might be a play to get more publicity. According to Fox Sports, Leonard Ellerbe a friend of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and CEO of Mayweather promotions comments the planned bout was "racially motivated." He says Conor Mcgregor "say anything he wants," but explains that the fighter is under contract with the UFC. He states that even if the cage fighter wants a boxing match with Floyd, the management would not allow the fight. He also believes that the UFC won't let Conor fight because they know he will lose.

As much as people want to see a boxing match featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor Mcgregor happen, but it seems less likely after the boxer says he is "happily retired." He recently posted an Instagram photo of a check for $100 million claiming he still has "every dime" of the money.
