'Justice League Dark' Release Date, News & Update: Is the R-Rating Fit? Director Could Have Gone 'Darker'? Character, Spoilers & More Details

Apparently, "Justice League Dark" is making noise in the DC Cinematic Universe, following its animated predecessors in making high quality titles to date. However, one concern that got to the fans lately is the declaration given for the movie's rating.

Fans of the DC graphic novel community may know that "Justice League Dark" has quite the promise to live up to, especially after how the other films alongside it were utterly adored. Though the movie is yet to completely surface, there are already news on what the film could become-starting with its R-rating announcement.

Previous reports noted that "Justice League Dark" was not given even a PG-13 rating, which lifted quite the controversy. This sparked some words from director Jay Oliva, who gave word on what could have been the case for the aforementioned film. Oliva said that if he knew that "Justice League Dark" was to be given the said rated-R, he could have just went full on with it and made it a "hard R" according to his taste.

It can be recalled that Oliva did some of the most appraised animated DC films to date, such as "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox", "Justice League War" and majority of the Batman films. The latest entry that may have instigated such is the emergence of "Batman: The Killing Joke," one that many agree to have contained an amount of rated-R content prior to "Justice League Dark."

As for the plot of "Justice League Dark," it is expected that the movie will show a diversity of characters who were not given that much reasonable cinematic airtime in the past. Such include Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and Jason Blood. Those who were fan favorites are also no exception, such as John Stewart as the Green Lantern, Batman and of course, the league's leader, John Constantine.
