'Death Stranding' Release Date, News & Updates: Latest Trailer Reveals the Character of Mads Mikkelsen

A new trailer for "Death Stranding" has been unveiled during the Game Awards 2016. Even though the new promotional clip from the upcoming game showed gorgeous visuals, the title is still shrouded with mystery since no further details were shared. Also, many attendees of the event were surprise to see Mads Mikkelsen at the end of the video.

Based on reports, a lot of fans were happy to see the actor Mads Mikkelsen part of Hideo Kojima's latest project. The role of the actor is still unknown in "Death Stranding," but many fans of the actor were excited to see him in his villainous form once again. Although it is still not yet confirmed if Mads is one of the antagonists in the game, the trailer seemed to indicate that he was up to no good.

Mads Mikkelsen is already familiar within the territory of villainy since he also portrayed the infamous Hannibal Lector in the television show, "Hannibal." The actor was also the bad guy in the recent Marvel film, "Doctor Strange," and it is possible that he will be featured as an antagonist once again in "Death Stranding." In addition, the actor is also set to appear in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" who will play as the father of Felicity Jones' character.

There are also other actors who are part of "Death Stranding," and the trailer that was shown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) showed Norman Reedus. Meanwhile, the latest promotional clip from the Game Awards 2016 also revealed that Guillermo Del Toro is also part of the project, and his scene showed him carrying a baby in a small chamber.

Theories about "Death Stranding" are already spreading online, and a Reddit user that goes by the username of Carpe_DMT made a speculation about the upcoming game. "I believe that our actor friends - Mads, Reedus, and Del Toro - are all people from our world who found their way into purgatory / limbo, one way or another," says Carpe_DMT in his theory. "The technology - Reedus' and Toro's handcuffs, the baby-chamber, this all serves to allow living creatures to transcend the planes of existence and enter the afterlife."

The theory of the Reddit user for "Death Stranding" also suggests that the actors Reedus and Mads may be clones. Moreover, those clones are created for battle and their bodies also contain no soul which makes them perfectly suited in Limbo. There are also other suggestions that Hideo Kojimay may be drawing inspiration form the sci-fi horror manga of Junji Ito titled "Gyo."

All these theories and speculations will only be confirmed once "Death Stranding" has been launched or hideo Kojima has announced new details about the game. The release date for the title is still unclear, but it is anticipated to arrive in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
